Getting to Milford Sound Lodge

The road to Milford Sound (State Highway 94) is a challenging yet hugely rewarding drive. Give yourself plenty of time to stop and enjoy your first glimpse of Fiordland.
Discover walks and photo stops along the Milford road

Stay safe by planning your journey in advance and always check the road conditions. During winter, the Milford road is prone to snowfall, and road closures are not uncommon. Also, there are no petrol stations along the road and fuel is not guaranteed in Milford Sound.
